Northward Progress

by Incubox / Kickfactor - University of Cumbria

Incubox’s debut Kickfactor was a great success, and we’re making it our priority to keep up the momentum it created and take it into future events. Those who attended the event at Salford Business School’s Media City campus will attest to the extremely high standard of ideas pitched. Huge amounts of effort had gone into the formation of all of the business ventures that were presented, and the pitches themselves displayed just how committed all of the contestants were to their ideas.

We believe firmly in working to our strengths; and nurturing talent to get startups off the ground is what we do best. Keen to replicate the success of the first Kickfactor event, we’ve set our sights north, to the University of Cumbria.

Speaking to a representative from the Carlisle based university; we heard how enterprise is encouraged across all faculties at the institution. Encouraging entrepreneurship across the board is something that really struck a chord with us, business should not be reserved for business students, and a great idea is a great idea, wherever it comes from. With this in mind we hope to see a varied array of ideas at the University of Cumbria Kickfactor event.

Kickfactor will give students from the University of Cumbria an opportunity to showcase their business acumen and compete for a cash prize, provide by Wildings Solicitors, to get their own business up and running.

Helping to turn people’s business ideas into business ventures is our aim, and the more places that we can reach out to, the more ideas we can develop, and the more success stories we can help write. After being blown away at the University of Salford, we can’t wait to see what the University of Cumbria has to offer.
